In a unexpected partnership that challenges usual forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Questline Disclosed

According to the formal statement, "A mysterious encounter leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of prohibited practices and monstrous changes resonate through the obscurity." The narrative introduces a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret sect.

The questline focuses on "strange trials and a fearsome adversary" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Metamorphoses

The teaser features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer finishes with a powerful scene showing a character, likely the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Bonus Features

Players who finish the mission will obtain an unique katana together with multiple items hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Mikasa attire for Naoe

Newest Free Story Addition

This release also adds the game's latest complimentary story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature abilities: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a new environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
